KIBAG is a leading Swiss company in the construction material and construction sector, employing around 1800 staff, mainly in the areas of construction materials, construction services, as well as environmental and waste management.

KIBAG construction sites are numerous throughout Switzerland and specialize in traffic route construction, deep and demolition, as well as water and special foundation construction. During construction processes and site inspections, innovative ideas often arise, which were previously recorded on paper and forwarded to headquarters.

KIBAG wanted to transition this traditional workflow into a digitized innovation process and had clear ideas on how innovation management in the construction industry should be shaped in the future. For the implementation using IT resources, initially in the form of a proof of concept, the construction company enlisted 1stQuad's help.
In close collaboration with KIBAG's business stakeholders, the already largely defined process was refined in individual points and implemented in the form of two IT components: Through a portal created in Office 365, KIBAG can manage the process and dynamically provide content.
The actual workflow is based on AgilePoint: Ideas are captured using a form that automatically guides through the individual process steps. The involved parties are notified via email, and the collected information is eventually stored in the portal.
Form processes created with AgilePoint are mobile-friendly by default. KIBAG employees can capture ideas directly on the construction site with their smartphones and tablets, utilizing the native features of the devices: Photos and voice notes allow for more direct and convenient communication than text input alone.

Since Office 365 and AgilePoint constitute a pure cloud solution, integration into KIBAG's IT was easily possible. The proof of concept convinced KIBAG. The new innovation process is now being used productively.
